SUPERSCOUT JERRY RADFORD
With 14 years
of experience publishing Superscout, plus
seven years as Recruiting Cordinator at
Virginia Commonwealth University and five
years as a Five-Star Coach under Dave Odom,
Radford knows what it takes to evaluate
talent. Superscout evaluations have a
history of accuracy as evidenced by where
players sign and their success thereafter.
While at VCU, Radford recruited two CAA
Player of the Year performers, the NCAA
Division I leader in steals & second in
assists, the Verizon Academic All-American
of the Year, plus two other Academic
All-Americans, two Dean Ehlers award winners
(athletic and academic achievement) and
numerous other players who would have
qualified as SLEEPERS in the Superscout
Report. As a former college basketball and
baseball player (major league signee),
Radford brings a history of athletics to the
report. He has long been a student of the
game with an eye for fundamental skills and
strong work ethic.

WHAT COLLEGE COACHES SAY ABOUT SUPERSCOUT
“Superscout is constantly discovering new talent and is
a step ahead in the search for players.”
“The
report is so thorough. Coverage is great. And it gives
me the opportunity to compare against honest,
insightful, and accurate evaluations.”
“Superscout is the best investment I can make. For the
cost of one recruiting trip to check out a player I get
hundreds of evaluations I can trust. The Sleepers alone
are worth the cost.”
“I’m
sure Superscout is a great tool for D1 programs but it’s
an absolute goldmine for us D111 coaches.”

SAMPLE SUPERSCOUT EVALUATION STYLE
LAST NAME, FIRST (HIGH SCHOOL, STATE) - 12 - 6’1” - 1
Body
that can get stronger and that needs to happen as she
progresses. Developing nice moves at four spot. Good
hands with soft shooting touch. Does nice job passing
from high post area either dumping or hitting cutters,
putting up good assist numbers. Down low she’s a
shot-blocking treat with good timing. Can get the boards
at both ends and has real knack for getting to offensive
glass. Runs floor well. Has added the three to her game
and that makes her a tough matchup for most post
defenders. Plays in a weak league but this kid has tools
and an upside. Step better than average quickness.
SLEEPER.
LAST NAME, FIRST (HIGH SCHOOL, STATE) - 13 - 5’8” - 1/1-
Real
athletic combo guard with good quickness. Has some wiry
strength and can get stronger if she gets in weight room
and goes to work. Very good feet on defensive end. Has a
little juice and can wow you at times with moves and
passes but needs to learn game more especially away from
ball at both ends. Has handle. Can shoot the three.
Needs the stop and pop. Best in full court game. Better
athlete than basketball player but the upside is there
for a good coach to take advantage and get in her head.
May be better than rating to right program. Take a close
look here. Does have some tools.

A MESSAGE FROM JERRY RADFORD
“Kids
can’t help where they live, how much support they get,
or how big or small they are. They have to deal with
what’s there. Some have excellent coaches. Some don’t.
Some have parents who sincerely care. Others are not so
lucky. I observe the coaches and parents as well as the
players on and off the court. I evaluate the overall
situation and consider the upside for each and every
player. I have a passion for the evaluation process and
I work very hard at it. Helping kids and coaches, in my
mind, is a worthwhile endeavor. I cherish the
relationships I have made with high school coaches, AAU
coaches, players and parents. And I hope, in some small
way, that I have helped a kid achieve her dreams.”
